What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, provide a better browsing experience, and supply information to the site owners. We also use local storage, which is a similar browser technology that allows us to store small amounts of data on your device.
How We Use Cookies
LottoLab uses a minimal set of cookies and local storage entries to operate the service and understand how it is used. We categorise these into two groups:
- Essential cookies — required for core functionality such as authentication. These cannot be disabled without breaking the service.
- Analytics cookies — help us understand how visitors interact with LottoLab so we can improve the experience. These are anonymised and contain no personally identifiable information.
Essential Cookies
These cookies are strictly necessary for LottoLab to function. They are always active and do not require consent.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| auth_token | Authentication JWT | Session |
| refresh_token | Token refresh for persistent login | 7 days |
Analytics Cookies
We use PostHog for product analytics. All data collected is anonymised and does not include any personally identifiable information (PII). Analytics cookies are only set if you consent to them.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|
| ph_* | PostHog session tracking (anonymised) | 1 year | PostHog |
Local Storage
In addition to cookies, LottoLab stores a small number of entries in your browser's local storage. These entries do not expire automatically but can be cleared through your browser settings.
| Key | Purpose |
|---|---|
| lottolab_cookie_consent | Records cookie consent preference |
| lottolab_utm | UTM campaign parameters from first visit |
Managing Cookies
Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically find these options in your browser's "Settings", "Preferences", or "Privacy" menu. From there you can:
- View what cookies are currently stored on your device
- Delete some or all cookies
- Block all or certain types of cookies
- Configure your browser to notify you when a cookie is set
Please note that if you block or delete essential cookies (specifically auth_token and refresh_token), you will be unable to log in to LottoLab and will need to sign in again each time you visit.
Third-Party Cookies
The only third-party service that may set cookies on LottoLab is PostHog, which we use for anonymised product analytics. PostHog does not track you across other websites and does not collect personally identifiable information. You can learn more about how PostHog handles data in their privacy policy.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we use cookies.
